Will it slow my charging?
No — that's the upgrade. A built-in fast-charging smart chip negotiates high-speed charging even with the data line cut, so you keep your charge speed and still block data.
What does it actually stop?
Data over the USB-C cable. At a tampered public port your device can draw power but can't sync, pair, transfer files or take an injected payload — that's the juice-jacking attack, blocked.
Is it USB-C or USB-A?

    Works as described, confirmed no data path. Reasonable build. Just be aware these by design won’t do fast charging (no data negotiation), so it’s for topping up, not a 0-100 in 30 mins situation. For travel safety it’s exactly the tool.

    Put a USB power/data meter on it before trusting it. Power rails live, D+ and D- dead — so it’s a genuine data block, not theatre. Passed ~2A to my phone no problem, so it doesn’t choke charging speed either. Machined-ish housing, keychain hole, lives on my keys for airport/hotel charging. This is the real one.
