Field Questions

Field Questions

Field questions

Will it slow my charging?
No — that's the upgrade. A built-in fast-charging smart chip negotiates high-speed charging even with the data line cut, so you keep your charge speed and still block data.
What does it actually stop?
Data over the USB-C cable. At a tampered public port your device can draw power but can't sync, pair, transfer files or take an injected payload — that's the juice-jacking attack, blocked.
Is it USB-C or USB-A?
USB-C to USB-C. It sits inline on a USB-C cable, so check that your cable and charger are USB-C before you rely on it.
Do I need it with my own charger?
Not really — it's for untrusted ports. Your own wall charger at home is already safe. Carry it for airports, cafés, hotels, rental cars and public charging walls.
What's it made of?
A solid metal housing about 33 mm long — pocket- or keyring-size, plug-and-play, nothing to install.

Honest about thisIt does one thing well: at an untrusted USB-C port — airport, café, public charger — it lets power through and blocks data, so the port can't read your device or push anything onto it. The built-in smart chip means you keep fast charging instead of trading speed for safety.

It guards the USB-C data line, nothing more — not wireless attacks, and not the ports you already trust at home. It's USB-C to USB-C, so make sure your cable and charger match.

THE PIECE · USB-C DATA BLOCKER

Charge anywhere. Let nothing talk to your phone.

NULL is a USB-C data blocker — it sits between your cable and a charging port and physically stops data, so a public USB port can push power but can't read, sync or inject anything. The difference here: a built-in fast-charging smart chip means you keep high-speed charging while the data line stays dead. Metal-bodied, plug-and-play, pocket-size. Airport, café, rental car, public charging wall — power up without trusting the port.

What it defeats
DEFEATS
Juice-jacking

Blocks the USB-C data line, so a tampered public port can charge your device but can't talk to it.

DEFEATS
Silent data sync

No handshake, no file access, no pairing — power passes, data doesn't.

DEFEATS
The slow-charge trade-off

A built-in smart chip keeps fast charging — you don't give up speed for safety.

DEFEATS
Sketchy public ports

Airport, café, hotel, rental car — use any port without trusting it.

Power passes. Data stops at the wall.

Data blocked, fast charge intact.

HOW IT WORKS

Power passes. Data stops at the wall.

Plug it inline on a USB-C cable and it lets power through while cutting the data path — so a charging port can't sync, read or inject anything into your device. No pairing prompt, no file transfer, no malware handshake.

The difference from a basic blocker: a built-in fast-charging smart chip negotiates high-speed charging on its own, so the dead data line doesn't slow you down.

THE BUILD

Metal, pocket-size, plug-and-play.

A solid metal housing, about 33 mm long — small enough to live on a keyring or in a pocket. USB-C in, USB-C out, plug-and-play with most USB-C gear; nothing to install, nothing to configure.

Supports a wide 5–50 V / 1–5 A charge range, so it keeps up with fast chargers.

Metal, pocket-size, plug-and-play.

Metal body, USB-C, ~33 mm.

small, metal, blocks data for real (tested). charges my devices fine. permanent keychain resident now. cheap and genuinely useful for anyone who travels

  2. Marcus B.
    (verified owner)

Works as described, confirmed no data path. Reasonable build. Just be aware these by design won’t do fast charging (no data negotiation), so it’s for topping up, not a 0-100 in 30 mins situation. For travel safety it’s exactly the tool.

    (verified owner)

works, blocks data (tested), charges fine for a trickle. just know it won’t fast charge since there’s no data handshake — that’s how these work, not a fault. good travel piece

  5. Camille D.
    (verified owner)

category-credibility piece and it earns it. D+/D- not connected, confirmed. metal housing, keychain hole, doesn’t wobble in the port. carry it everywhere i charge in public

Got it for travelling and tested it works (data blocked, power flows) with help from a friend’s USB meter. Build is solid. Charging is slower than direct but that’s the point of it. Small and reassuring to have. Would buy again.

  8. Dave K.
    (verified owner)

Does what it claims — verified power-only with a meter. Charging speed through it is a touch slower than direct (no fast-charge negotiation on my device), which is expected for a data blocker. For airports and conference charging stations it’s exactly right. Small, sturdy, keyring-friendly.

the data pins are physically absent, not just “disabled in firmware” — which is exactly what you want from one of these. metal build, keychain ready. charges fine. trustworthy little thing

Petit, robuste, efficace.

Put a USB power/data meter on it before trusting it. Power rails live, D+ and D- dead — so it’s a genuine data block, not theatre. Passed ~2A to my phone no problem, so it doesn’t choke charging speed either. Machined-ish housing, keychain hole, lives on my keys for airport/hotel charging. This is the real one.

Top.

does the job, tested and confirmed. slower charge through it but that’s the tradeoff for blocking data. solid build. good for anyone who charges in airports or hotels

  14. Ryan M.
    (verified owner)

Travel a lot and public charging always made me uneasy. This solves it cleanly — plug the blocker in first, then your cable. Confirmed it kills the data pins. Build feels solid metal, not the brittle plastic ones. It’s small enough to forget it’s on the keychain until you need it.

  15. wraith.k
    (verified owner)

tested D+ D- with a meter, no continuity. so it’s a real block. charges my phone at a normal trickle. tiny, tough, keychain’d. the kind of thing you carry and forget until it matters

  16. rafe.w

the boring essential. confirmed it blocks data with a meter, charges fine, built tough, fits the keys. carry it, charge anywhere, stop worrying. simple as

Bought after reading about juice-jacking and honestly mostly to stop worrying about it at airports. Plugged it into a USB meter (borrowed from a techy friend) and the data lines genuinely don’t pass. Charges my phone fine. Peace of mind for a fiver-ish. Small and well made.

Frequent flyer, this is now permanently clipped to my travel kit. Tested it blocks data with a USB tester. Charges steadily. The metal housing seats firmly in the port, no wiggle. For the price of a sandwich it removes a real (if small) risk. Recommend.

the “USB condom” everyone should carry. tested the data lines are physically not passing — checked with a tester. charges fine, blocks sync. cheap insurance against dodgy public ports

  20. aaron.p
    (verified owner)

edc travel essential. verified data block with a meter, charges at a steady rate. small enough for the keychain, tough enough to survive it. no reason to charge naked on a public port again

  21. Owen D.
    (verified owner)

Genuine data blocker — checked with a meter. Charges, doesn’t sync. Slower charge as expected without fast-charge handshake. Sturdy build, good for travel. The only minor gripe is I’d have liked it in a slightly grippier finish for pulling out of tight ports.

  22. Antoine L.
    (verified owner)

  23. Patrick O.
    (verified owner)

Plug it in before the cable at any sketchy port and you’re charging power-only. Verified the data lines are dead. It’s tiny, it’s metal, it lives on the keys. Exactly the kind of low-effort high-sense precaution I’ll actually keep up. Bought one for my dad too.

  24. Nathan H.
    (verified owner)

Conference and airport charging stations always felt iffy. This is the fix — power-only, confirmed with a tester. Metal housing, keyring hole, seats tight. Charges steadily. Small enough to never leave behind. Genuinely good bit of EDC for the money.

  25. Greg M.
    (verified owner)

Solid little blocker. Tested it passes power, blocks data. Charging is slower through it (no fast-charge, as expected). Build is good. Knocking one star only because the keyring hole is a bit small for a chunky keychain — works on a split ring fine though.

  26. Marie L.
    (verified owner)

clean little blocker. verified data lines cut. charges fine, metal housing, fits the keychain. travel must-have at this price
